I hope everyone is doing well~ I hope the holidays was oodles of fun for everyone :) Best of luck to everyone who are back in school~! You can do it!! I felt like writing an update and changing the journal XD So please bare with me a little.
Life isn't too bad here, just super cold x.x" It's so cold that it forces you to cuddle blankets and not want to do anything XD But...then again, that isn't so bad XD Anyway, like I've mentioned before in my previous journals...I'm going to be in and out, and maybe less actively submitting finished work(s) since I'll be working on my portfolio that is to be submitted in before April...Let me tell you...It's painful XD

There is like little to no guideline...and it feels like a free-for-all...which frankly gets me paranoid and aggravated :/ Especially how they love to specify that they do not want to see manga/comic book, anime/cartoon influenced pieces, and if I have have to put something in, it should only be one page. Sheesh...Talk about being high-maintenance? I can't put a form of stylized art into and art portfolio? Ok...? But whatever really. My major problem is the little to no guidelines ;v; It makes everything so much harder and intimidating ;v; This is so painful x.x But at the moment, I'm tackling them slowly...I have a few drafts/ideas floating here and there. Just need to get to them when I get there Dx

Otherwise, life isn't too bad. I hope everything goes well with everyone :) And I'll try to update more often XD All the best everyone~

I should probably look at the guidelines again lol. All I remember is the amount of stuff, which ones I have to include and how many coloured ones. I don't remember the restriction details. I think you still have free reign on stylization, but it can't be only cartoon style. Try to look at different genres like, surrealism, expressionism, realism etc...

Lol, I just read the guidelines, yeah it's pretty much that they want you to explore different styles to try to open your mind and not stick to the same stuff all the time.

I love how they literally say "comic book art is inappropriate", how is it inappropriate? I mean sure it could be violent or overly sexual but then don't draw those. Doesn't mean the entire genre is deemed inappropriate, lol.
